Scripture for Loneliness and Anxiety

6 Scriptures to Read – Loneliness & Anxiety

Do you ever feel lonely? Even in a busy life, with a houseful of people, and a busy job? You are not alone my friend. Sometimes the loneliest people are surrounded by many. How about anxiety? Everyone thinks you are cool as a cucumber, but inside you feel like your chest is going to explode.

God tells us we are never alone, never fear the future and always have faith. I wholeheartedly believe this. The following are 6 verses from the bible that I find comfort in when I feel lonely or anxious.

I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

Matthew 28:20

If you trust God and believe in him, no one can ever separate you from Him. Scripture says you just need to call on him when you need him and he will give you peace. Have you tried it? I have and it works.

The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

Psalm 145:18

God promises we are never really alone. He is there for us always. In my darkest times, I have called out for him to help me and comfort me. The peace I feel is immediate.

I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

John 14:18

Anxiety can hit you like a ton of bricks. One minute you feel like you are on top of the world and the next you are crying in your bedroom closet. God is in control and already knows your life; where you have been, where you are and where you are going.

For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.

Psalm 91:11

Sometimes anxiety is related to fear. You fear for your children, you fear if you are the best you can be, you fear the future. I try really hard to let go of fears. Fears that I cannot control.

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?

Psalm 56:3-4

I always say, give everything to God. Your fears, your anxiety, your thanks, your requests. Pray daily, pray several times a day. Talk to God like you would talk to a friend. He is your almighty Friend. He will ease your loneliness and anxiety.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanks-giving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7
