Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas from my family to yours. I love this time of year. I remember when I was little and my mom would tell me about the birth of Jesus. My naive little self thought how amazing it would have been to be born in a barn. I also remember going to my first Christmas play about the birth of Jesus. Seeing that little baby in the manger made my heart happy but at that age I didn’t realize why.

As an adult I realize that even though Christmas includes all the things we love; decorating, family traditions, gift giving, visiting family, it however is really about the amazing birth of Jesus Christ. He. who was born to the virgin Mary.

Today I want to share this beautiful story with you as well as a look into our Christmas traditions. Christmas is a time of joy but it also brings sadness as well. This is the first Christmas without my mother in law and many Christmas’s without my parents. So though we will spend the day rejoicing, those who are in heaven will be greatly missed.

So Merry Christmas dear readers and may your day be blessed.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of peace
