Who remembers the movie, Chicken Little? Well Chicken Little sends his small town in a frenzy when he rings the bell and starts to yell “the sky is falling”. Well the actual sky was not falling, well not then, and he was made the laughing stock of the town. One year later when the sky did fall, Chicken little saved the town from little orange aliens. However, these little orange aliens were just there to rescue a child.
My point to this entire blog post today is FEAR. Fear is real and people are acting crazy because of it. Fear is an emotional response to a phobia, danger, threats, etc. And fear spreads like wild-fire.
Fear: The Sky is Falling?
How do you overcome fear? Well one way is with facts. Arm yourself with knowledge and facts. Real facts. Not what you read on someone’s Facebook post. The world is currently in a frenzy over the corona-virus. And yes, I agree, it is potentially a deadly virus. But so is the flu. And I promise you all the toilet paper in the world is not gonna save you.
COVID-19 Symptoms

WASH YOUR HANDS!!!!
You will notice, no where does it say buy out the stores, panic, act crazy! Toilet paper will not save you! Be smart. If you have an underlying illness such as cancer or heart disease then take extra precautions. However, understand that the flu or common cold could be just as harmful as COVID-19. You can also check the CDC website for updates and recommendations. I will post the link here.
With so much other crazy things going on in the world, fear is the enemy. Violence, crime, drugs, threat of war, unemployment, financial crash; these are just to name a few. Replace your fear with prayer. Understand that God never gives you more than you can handle. Have faith and trust in Him.
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” ~ Isaiah 41:10
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” ~ 2 Timothy 1:7
“Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.” ~ Proverbs 29:25
So in essence, the sky is not falling. Replace fear with facts. Trust and Pray. Check out some of my previous post on how to verse map when reading the bible. XOXO.
