We have all been there in our life. Some people more than once. A broken heart is probably one of the most difficult things to overcome. You are usually shocked and it usually comes out of left field, right? And the last thing you want to hear is that you will get through it. THE LAST THING! In that moment, when those feelings are the rawest, you do not want to get through it. You want to wallow in it, you want to go back, you want it fixed, you are confused, hurt, exhausted, and feel like the rug was just pulled right out from under you. So what do you do? It is not magic, there is no cure. However keep reading for 10 ways to heal a broken heart. I promise, it will heal.

10 Ways to Heal a Broken Heart

  • Go through it, not around it.
  • Find yourself and gain your independence again.
  • Make a good list and bad list.
  • Write it down, journal, pray.
  • Talk to someone.
  • Stop looking for answers that you may never find, it will drive you crazy.
  • Make a list of your strengths and never let anyone take those away from you.
  • Try something new. Take up golfing, dancing, hiking!
  • Don’t look back. When the fire is out, don’t play in the ashes.
  • Know your worth!

I am a firm believer in 3’s. I arrange my decor in 3’s, the number 3 is my lucky number, and I believe “the third time is a charm.” You will fall in love many times in your life and go through several heartbreaks. My momma told me one time that the third person you THINK is your true love, is ACTUALLY your true love. The others were teaching you lessons, teaching you how to love, teaching you about yourself. Learn from that. Once the hurt and anger is gone (and this will take a while), then remember why you loved that person, the one that broke your heart. Remember what you learned, good and bad. Know your limits, what you are willing to put up with and what you will never allow again. Don’t forget the good times because those are the times that taught you about love.

10 ways to heal a broken heart is just the tip of the iceberg. Healing begins with one step and continues with each step thereafter. Keep taking those steps and let go of the anger, hurt, and mistrust. Everything happens for a reason and know that God always steps in. HE will never give you more than you can handle. So dear readers, trust me when I say, your broken heart will heal, in time…XOXO
